The concept, in relation to alpha and omega, seems to derive from the biblical 1:8 Revelation where is found the quote "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last."
In addition, the piece itself seems to form the shapes of eight. It is overall a beautiful artwork which gets more fascinating with each look.
